NHU Gruppen's processing of personal data takes place according to rules we have adopted internally. The rules contain instructions and measures with the aim of protecting your personal data. Thus, we will process your personal data in a way that prevents personal data from being destroyed, lost, changed, published without authorization, and against unauthorized persons gaining access to or knowledge of your personal data.

We have established procedures for granting access rights to those of our employees who process any sensitive personal data and data revealing information about personal interests and habits. We control their actual access through logging and monitoring. To avoid data loss, we regularly back up our data sets. *Cookies
Like almost all other websites, we use cookies to make the pages work and to make them easier for you to use. Cookies help us e.g. with getting an overview of visits so that we can continually optimize and target the website and our services. This allows us to provide you with a better user experience with more relevant content.

You should be aware that cookies do not contain more information than you accept, and they are not able to "invade" your hard drive and return to the sender with personal information or other information from your computer. Through the settings on your computer, you can prevent NHU Gruppen and our content suppliers from placing cookies on your computer. This may mean that some features on our websites will not work, such as staying logged in to the control panel and retaining your language settings. You will also not be able to make purchases if you prevent NHU Gruppen from placing cookies on your computer. See information on how you can prevent the storage of cookies on your computer below.

A cookie is a small piece of code that is sent to the browser and stored there so that the website can recognize your computer. All sites can send cookies to your browser if the browser settings allow it. Websites can only read information from cookies they have stored themselves, and cannot read cookies from other sites. There are two types of cookies: permanent and temporary (session cookies). Permanent cookies are stored as a file on your computer for a longer period. Session cookies are temporarily placed on your computer when you visit a website, but disappear when you close the page. This means that they are not permanently stored on your computer. Most companies use cookies on their websites to improve usability, and cookies cannot damage your files or increase the risk of viruses on your computer.

As a user, you can set whether you want cookies to be saved automatically in your browser, if you want to be asked every time a cookie needs to be saved or if certain cookies are saved. Cookies are used on many websites, not just NHU Gruppen's, to see if the browser has visited the website before and which choices have been made afterwards.
A check is made at each visit to the website, which examines whether there are cookies stored in the browser or not. If there are no saved cookies on the website, this saves cookies on the website.

This collection is carried out on the basis of the data protection regulation (GDPR) article 6, subsection 1, letter f, as the collection takes place with a view to optimizing the websites for your benefit.

See also the section below on disclosure of personal data and transfer to recipients in third countries.
Traffic data

Every time you visit the NHU Group's websites, information is collected about your domain name/IP address, referring web address, browser and platform, time of visit, pages visited and searches performed.

The collected traffic data may be shared with potential advertisers, research firms and business partners for demographic purposes. When the data is used in this collected form, no one will be able to identify or contact you.
Use of pixel tracking (not personal data)

NHU Gruppen occasionally uses pixel tracking. Pixel tracking means that your visit to one of the NHU Group's pages or a partner site is registered in connection with, e.g. statistical studies. Pixel tracking is anonymous and no personal information is collected in connection with it. Only anonymous data about the navigation on our websites or to and from our websites to partner sites is registered for statistical purposes. NHU Gruppen uses cookies in connection with the following:

  1. General session control on our websites, including in connection with language version control.
  2. Collection of user statistics.
  3. General session control in connection with online booking on the booking system integrated with Norsk Hytte Udlejning ApS or other partner sites (e.g. in the form of pixel tracking).

Dissemination of personal data
We use third parties to process personal data, and with them we enter into a data processing agreement, in order to ensure your personal data rights and that we can fulfill our obligations towards customers, employees and others.
We may entrust your personal data to the following categories of recipients:

  • External IT suppliers
  • Our partners in the form of destinations and ferry companies with whom we book for you.
  • Providers of cookie services for the websites. The specific purposes of the use of the individual cookies and the passing on of personal data to third parties based on cookies appear in the cookie policy, which is described in this Personal Data Policy.

Transfer to recipients in third countries, including international organisations
Some of the third parties are located in countries outside the EU/EEA. Regarding with these third parties, we ensure that there is a legal basis for the transfer of your personal data, for example through the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework.

An example of one of these third parties located in the USA is Google, which is a supplier of a marketing tool and analysis tool that we use at NHU Gruppen.

When you agree to receive our newsletters, your information is passed on to the marketing platform, Mailchimp, which is among the world's leading (and largest) email newsletters. The NHUGruppen has a data processing agreement with the Company, which is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
